What we typically find in Punggol inspections
Defect patterns vary slightly by district based on contractor, build period, and substrate conditions. Punggol-area patterns we observe:
- Hollow tile clusters: hollow-sounding floor and wall tiles are a common BTO finding. We tap-test every tiled surface and mark each one for the developer to rectify.
- Drainage gradient errors: newer estates with extensive open-plan kitchen-living-yard layouts sometimes show drainage issues at room transitions.
- Household shelter checks: for the household shelter (bomb shelter), door seal and gasket issues are a common finding.
- External drainage at low-rise units: for ground-floor and 2nd-floor units, perimeter drainage gradient is worth specific attention.
